Exclamation My god... will i be the YOUNGEST liveaboard EVER?!

Hello All! So, my name is Tito and I am a 23 year old non-alcoholic regular guy...

This summer, I will be moving into my now-in-current-negotiations PDQ 36 catamaran. Recent grad, I own my own company and doing very well (thank god for technology!), and looking to move somewhere in California. You know, 'the dream'.

But... will I have anyone to "hang out" with? Give me the down low, the real deal, the truth about living aboard.

How old are most? Can you really invite friends over to dinner?... will they come?

Congratulations on your early success. Don't blow it!...kidding.
It depends on the harbor. I will say that most young male liveaboards will be partiers. Generally, the nicer/cleaner the harbor is...the better the crowd.
San Francisco bay has many nice liveaboard harbors and close to Silicon Valley.

Re: My god... will i be the YOUNGEST liveaboard EVER?!

TS, you are not even close to being the youngest. Rebel Heart and Red Charlotte's as yet unborn daughter will move aboard at age 5 days +/- a couple of days. Your're an old fart comparitively.

And yep, you will be one of the youngest self inflicted LAB's, but don't let that discourage you. If you don't act like a dickhead you will be made very welcome in any of the places where yotties congregate. And further, yes you can invite folks over for dinner (we do it all the time) or for drinks or for just a good visit. Really just about anything you could do ashore except mow the lawn.

Try it... you'll like it!

Cheers,

Jim

Certainly not the youngest - but probably the most solvent for that age (at least on CF).

My big caution would be don't assume the good times last forever - boats, business and broads.........

The one thing you won't be doing is collecting 'lots of stuff' save for you get a storage unit.
