Max Prop 16x3 on SO349

I had a Max Prop installed on my SO349 and now, after four weeks on Lake Michigan and Huron, its offical - it is WAY slower than the fixed prop under power. I was running 5.4 knots at 2,800 rpms as compared to 6.0 with the fixed prop.

Does that sound right to everyone?

I saw something about "tuning the pitch to the engine" .... not sure what that means.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Is it also slower under WOT compared to your old prop? Are you unable to achieve hull speed when WOT?

If so you likely are under pitched. Check the manual there are instructions for increasing the blade angle to increase the pitch.

Thanks - it is slower under WOT but the bottom wasnít cleaned before our trip so Iím guessing Iíll clean it up and try it out, cleaned.

Iím guessing she has to be pulled out for the pitch adjustment.
