MarkJ Missing ?

Has anyone in the Grenada area seen MarkJ lately. I know he was going to have his boat hauled for some work but it seems a little strange that he was so active on the forum and went quiet very suddenly. I have sent him a PM with no response.

If anyone is in the area and could ask around it would be good to hear how he is doing.

Re: MarkJ missing?

He hauled his boat and then got hauled off to jail on an environmental charge. It appears that by hauling out, he destroyed the only known habitat of the almost extinct thruhull peekaboo blenny. He didn't help his case by stating that he was sharing his processed meals with the fish.

He is expected to return in 3-5 years, but may not have forum privileges right away.

That's what I heard, anyway...

Mark

Re: MarkJ missing?

Yeah... I was wondering what he was up to.
I figured the mods had to rap him over the knuckles for something, probably indecent exposure, and he was just sulking in the naughty corner

Chances are, if he's out of the water, the quicker he gets back in the cheaper it is.

So he's probably up to his very sweaty armpits the whole day covered in antifouling paint. I can't imagine him supervising the locals doing the work!

Re: MarkJ missing?

Yeah, could be, but he is a regular poster when he isn't at sea, and all of a sudden his posts stopped. He was supposed to be getting his new solar controller and was going to let us know how it worked out.

I wonder if anyone is in contact with the Cruiser's net on Amateur radio, if they could get people asking around.

Re: MarkJ missing?

Regardless of the humour, I am with DeepFzr here, it does seem unusual for MarkJ to be off line for almost 3 weeks without some explanation or warning.
I trust he is safe and is just taking a rest from cyberworld and is actually enjoying the real world.

Folks were wondering what that smoke drifting over the palms was from. On the other hand if he moved to some other area the WIFI may not exactly be the best. I have that happen here in from one side of a harbor to the other. I can imagine the connection situation down in "paradise" may be much worse.
