made a new video from the sea of cortez

We just got back into La Paz; we're here for a week waiting out Hurricane Raymond, buying provisions, then scooting out for the mainland. Hard to believe only like ~5 months left until the Pacific crossing! So friggin cool!

As far as the Sea of Cortez is concerned, it was hot, packed with cyclones, bug-ridden, and probably a lot of fun if you didn't have two little kids. For us, we're much looking forward to winter on the mainland and then getting out of Mexico. It's been over a year for us here and we've been to dozens of places of towns, bays, and anchorages at this point.

For any of you inbound-to-Mexico sailors, if you get to the mainland we'll see you soon!

Thanks for the video...

We spent the summer in the Sea of Cortez in the Summer of 2011 and later headed to Central America and finally here to Florida.

After 9500 NM, we found that it doesn't get any better than the Sea!

One of the best cruising videos I've seen in along time. Loved the editing and music too. Thanks! Would be a great one for those pondering cruising with kids.
I must be crazy, I swear a couple of the boat names you mention at the end were there when I was 25 years ago!

I wish we could have experienced that but we showed up with a 4 month old and left with an 8 month old; not a lot of folks with a three year old and an infant that are off hiking around in the desert and such. We're planning on stopping in New Zealand for a bit the kids to grow up. Hoping that Micronesia is our chance for the kids to be old enough that we can do all the adventuring we missed out on here.

That's awesome, thanks man. I think that one that's sunk was here for that long, and there are definitely some looooong time liveaboards in Puerto Escondido. The self described desert rats are in no hurry to leave the Sea of Cortez.

Hopefully it will be another beautiful winter down here. It really is a ton of fun in this place.

Or a vpn service. There are some cheap ones out there that let you get around geographical restrictions.

Hands down Eric...You do the best video's. See you down there in a month. We should be leaving here in a weeks time.

We're actually sitting in Marina de La Paz right now, just waiting on Hurricane Raymond to dissipate and a good northerly wind to push us down the mainland. I'll leave the Internet cable with the office for ya!

Are you guys psyched? Some Ha-Ha'rs told me not to eat the food in Santa Maria, whatever that means. When I went there I was the only boat but apparently they ship in food and a band?

Internet cable? I'm anchoring at the waltz dude! I'm getting major dental work done there first.
I'm psyched but running around a bit. Since there have been some changes with what Mexico wants, I just purchased Mx Ins. for $250. Apparently you cannot check in without it. I hope that's true but sad my progressive policy won't work. After I check in next week in Ensenada, I'll enter into my blog what went down. I should be in La Paz around 12/1. You going to be there?

Excellent job on the video. I'll be sailing down there winter of 2015/16. Nice to see how harsh a life it will be.

Hi Eric,
Cool Video, and makes us so envious of the times your family are sharing.
Cant wait for the Pacific movies that are sure to follow.
If you get to Aus and NSW and the best sailing in Aus in Lake Macquarie, give us a ahoy for the low down on the area.
