UPDATE: My chainplate replacement by Sail Ready is complete. I'm very satisfied.
Pros: -- reasonably responsive, would always respond to emails, often the same day, usually within 24 hours, occasionally within 48 hours. Never longer than that. Also available by
phone.
-- very professional, business-like, got right to
work and stayed on task while on the jobsite. Not a lot of chit-chat, yet approachable with questions and concerns. Clearly experienced, knew what they were doing, had a system, and worked efficiently.
-- VERY careful with owner's stuff. Removed shoes when boarding, taped-off work areas. CAREFULLY removed
hardware to do as little damage to woodwork and surrounding areas as possible. Taped-off and shielded surrounding areas to minimize dirt, dust, etc. Cleaned up after every visit, including vacuuming up all dust and debris.
-- recommended and worked closely with a good metal fabricator to make my new chainplates. Sigman Fabricators. Steve was easy to work with, fast turn-around. Honest -- straight shooter. Good final product.
Cons: Pricey. I guess you get what you pay for. I figure chainplates aren't items you should cut corners on or go with the "bargain basement" riggers (or fabricators).
Anyway, since some of you wanted to know, just thought I'd follow-up on my experience with Sail Ready. Rick and Sarah do good work!
