Leaving Virginia on the outside...

Hey guys,
We are leaving Virginia on the outside in late April heading toward Florida and the GoM for Corpus Christi, Texas. Decided not to go ICW just because of the hassles and time delays involved and the available time we have. That may change with the weather but we'll see. Plan on 30-50 miles offshore, rounding Diamond shoals outside the old lighthouse and running the outer buoys until we get down to around Jupiter, Florida, then suck it in to stay out of the Stream and round the Keys. A port call in Key West for a day to enjoy and restock, then onward. We expect no trouble out of the boat, which is now in tip-top shape. Hopefully, Murphy will not stow away and stay home!

Any tips and tricks for this run? This is new territory for us and open to all advice.

Did this trip a few years ago, Late October
But we went inside from Norfolk VA. to Beaufort NC.
Virginia Cut, ICW
Beautiful scenery, lowlands of NC not to be missed
I recall it took us about 5 days or so and took Hatteras out of
the equation.
The remainder of the trip was outside but
inside the GS, with a stop in Brunswick Ga.
Don't know if you save time by going around Hatteras
because of the need to wait on a weather window as apposed
To doing this bit inside.
Cheers
Neil
