Just got a Newport 17' Need some help

So I just picked up a Newport 17'.

Let me start by saying I am a complete rookie. Never sailed before in my life.

So I need some major help.

1. The centerboard will not stay up. There is a new cable and rope hooked up.

2. The mast is down and cables and ropes everywhere. Ido t know where to begin.





Any help is appreciated.

Okay. Fixed the centerboard. (Keeping my fingers crossed it holds)

Now I need to know how to rig it up!

Look at the top of the mast, you should have stay cables that attach port side and starboard side, then another to the bow, there should also be ropes on pulleys to raise your main and jib
