I just had this exact same discussion with the harbormaster of the marina where my business is based. He said when you're full, you raise the rates. Helps get rid of the riff-raff and losers and improves the bottom line.

So if you don't want to pay increased marina fees, you're riff-raff or a loser?

You quoted the Harbormaster as saying it and I asked the above question. Can't keep track of what you wrote?

No genius, I didn't say that people who don't want to pay increased slip fees are losers. That's something you attributed to me in hopes of starting a fight. Either that or your insecurities are showing.

Re: It's just disgusting...

Some of these owners have died. Some have medical problems and can no longer use their boats but having problems selling them or are hoping they will get better and resume boating.

Some are "project boats" that will never be finished. Somebody's "dream".

Be glad everyone with boats aren't using them! You know how much traffic it would be if they did?

With your derogatory name calling, you're the one provoking a fight. We all know this is your M.O. anyways. I've outlined in red twice now but you never seem to see your part in what you write.
So is your wetsuit made of Teflon? Nothing seems to stick to it.

Re: It's just disgusting...

There are several type of owners evident in most marinas. There are those that give a damn, those that dont and those that are undecided. These demographics seem to exist just about everywhere.

The sea and the sun are tough to combat. Once an owner slips in their preventative maintenance its beyond the ability of most owners to recover the vessel.

What amazes me is the ability of many vessels to stay afloat when they receive absolutely no tlc.

I guess you can't understand the difference between what I quoted the harbormaster as saying- "Raising the rates helps get rid of the losers" and what you inferred that I said- "People who don't want to pay higher slip fees are losers."

OK, last time I try to make you understand your own statement:

Nobody likes paying higher slip fees. That does not mean that everybody is a loser, which is what you inferred I said.

Friggin' ponderous.
