Is it Craigslist, or is it Just Me ?

I just went on Craigslist, clicked on South Florida , clicked on boats, typed sailboat in the search bar, got zero returns. I tried many cities in different states and got the same results. is anyone else having this problem?

I just tried it... that's wierd.

I got results if I searched just on

"sail" + entire post, or

"sailboat" + title

try typing sail(space) boat

or sail

or sailing

or keel

or lamp

or GPS

or swim(like in swim platform)

Craigslist has got to have the worst search function I have ever used.

Go to boats and search "diesel" it should weed out the tiny daysailors, but include some trawlers. I've never had issue with just a sailboat search, are you searching the boat section?

I tend to use this link when looking for boats, especially for specific models: Ad Hunt'r - Search ALL of Craigslist™ and more!

Here's another good site to search through Craigslist -- either all of it nationwide, or a radius from your zip code:

SearchTempest Online Classifieds Search - All the Classifieds. One Search.

Re: Is it Craigslist, or is it Just Me ?

thanks for the replies. it just started working again. the funny thing is, I have been spending at least 2 hours a day looking at sailboats on Craigslist, and all of a sudden, the search bar stopped working for the word 'sailboat'. I think the problem might have been my android.

Yes, it was "just you." Just kidding. Sorry couldn't resist.

I use it nearly everyday even though I shouldn't be looking for a another boat. I've found some real bargains and have nearly bought a couple times but then the wife brings me back to reality and I start thinking about all the projects I already have.
It certainly is fun looking though.

kind regards,

I'm with you there John.
I found a couple trawlers I would have luved to have but one boat is enough to maintain sanity.

SERIOUSLY!!!

Yet every time someone tries to improve the craigslist interface, by creating a better way of searching it, they get threatened with lawsuits and forced to take down their websites. It's ridiculous.

Oh, and use those links above for better craigslist searching quickly, because they'll be gone soon also. Bet on it.

SearchTempest has been around for over a year, so it made it that long. . . .

Re: Is it Craigslist, or is it Just Me ?

RSS feed works well for me. Putting in sailboat, sail boat, a few diferrent names of types of boats, (all individual searches) and a price range, and then clicking on the RSS button at the bottom of each page gives me lots of results sent directly to my Google reader.

I used to use crazedlist, which did basically the same thing. It lasted a little over 2 years before it drew the attention of the craigslist lawyers. I would have thought the lawyers would have gotten on them for the name being too close, but no, that wasn't it. Craigslist just has some sort of problem with anyone else searching through their ads.

Honestly, I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be surprised if SearchTempest ends up one of these days being told to stop including craigslist in their searches.
