60ml of hot water is not a "long coffee" - which is the way I drink it. At 20 seconds for 60 ml. you are still looking at over a minute and a half for my 300ml mug.

As a public service to 'Mericans, 60ml equals slightly more than 2 oz, hardly a man-size cup o joe! We drink our java in 16 oz containers here fellas, so we'd need ... le'ssee ... hhmmm ... carry the one ... about 480ml @ 16 microtron jewels for a deltoid of about 7 or just go to the drive-thru:

Maybe it's just my back woods American thought process, but, if your boat has problems heating just 1 cup of water for coffee you are seriously under powered and should consider increasing generation or storage capacity or both.

I would tend to agree until I tried Medigla d' oro Instant Expresso.
Best instant I've tasted, no messy grounds to deal with and I can by them by the twelve pack. Only wait is to boil the water. You can also just use it with cold milk to have a nice iced coffee as an afternoon treat.

I also use some type of of Irish Cream liquor instead of milk in the morning coffee. Needs no refrigeration and helps start the morning off right.

Storage of these is a devilish problem. Can't be below and have to be in a place where leaks let gas go overboard. Can't be outside because they rust to bits in days due to salt water. I can't make a good enough case for allowing these things on board.

Not particularly, I'm drinking Cappuccino I make at home right now, just can't seem to allocate the amount of power and room a cappuccino maker would take up. Just broke down and bought a toaster the other day as I hate sandwiches made from soggy bread but did as it was only $8. It's only an at the dock thing for now though.
I believe you need a high pressure pump for a real Cappuccino maker, the steam one I tried years ago was bitter. Maybe one day I will find and buy a manual pump, stove heated Cappuccino maker

Me too, and the rust like hell in a few days. One day I'm going to get around to plumbing the grill off of the big tanks direct and eliminate the little tanks.

That is where I also keep mine. Yes they rust, but not all that fast that they can not be used.

I keep mine in the port locker, which is NOT really completely dry. I keep the rubber/plastic thread covers on them. I don't care if the bottle gets rusty, only the threads. A little Lanocote on them works just fine.

I've always liked the 1lb propane bottles for their portability, I figured since they were painted, they wouldn't rust. I wonder if dipping them in plastisol would keep them from rusting? If I kept only 2, and they didn't rust, that might work out.

Otherwise I'd look into spun fiberglass propane tanks. Kinda pricey, but they're translucent, so you can see exactly how much is left and they're lighter than steel tanks. I have 2 x 7.5 gal aluminum tanks, they're very light when empty. Are these propane lockers deep enough for that size tank?
