Actually what nobody has said so far is a good partner. Cruising without one is not the same. You need someone to enjoy it with. I cannot understand singlehanders. With apologies to MarkJ on Sealife who currently sails on his own but isn't really a singlehander.

we don't have a bbq at home. but the admiral insisted we needed one. so i put one on the stern rail. we don't use it. moral; if you don't use it at home, you probably won't use it at sea either.

yes, it's tough to find a really comfortable place to sit and read. i think i'll experiment with some of those folding seats like the one west marine sells.

beer. we've traveled pretty extensively. i've come to the conclusion that the best beer on this planet is found in a real english pub. in fact, it's so good they can actually serve it at near room temperature; ordinary beers have to be served cold in order to numb your taste buds so you can't tell how ordinary it is.

Wifey B: Bad boy......now what he meant was perhaps innocent but......our bed at home is 10' x 12'.......hehe......that's a good size for playing....

I mean like board games......of course.....

But also when we liked it in our bedroom and stateroom we put it in all our bedrooms. Plus one of our girlfriends did order the same for her home.

Ours came from selectabed. The one thing we dislike about them is that they don't put the prices online even for the standard sizes. But if you have an odd area or shape, they will do any custom size or shape you want. Round. Heart shaped.

turkish coffee. yes. anyone can make it on board and it's as strong as that cuban coffee that tomfl gets on calle ocho in miami.

you need an 'ibrik' and the coffee, of course. i use a brand called 'venezelos' which is available in most near eastern grocery stores, greek groceries, and maybe online. get your ibrik here -

i'm thinking that any very finely ground coffee will work but have never tried any other brands. only downside is that you have to tend that ibrik pretty much the whole time you're boiling it or it will foam out all over your stove.

MUSIC ! I gotta have it on the boat, all my favorites, English, Caribbean, African, Latino, and Hawaiian, on an Ipod, speakers and controls in the main cabin and up on the flying bridge where I usually drive from(trawler). Also a Satellite reciever I can use in the car or boat for variety and a bit of news once in a while.

I bought a Weber Q200 and liked it so much, I bought a 2nd one. The difference between a Q200 and a Q220 is the Q220 is a little taller (maybe 1/2") and has a thermometer mounted in the front of the lid. I bought 2 of the thermometers and mounted them myself.

The 2nd one I bought for $50 used off of craigslist, it looked like new. I also added a clamp on LED light to the handle to help me see the food better at night.

Just gave two of them away last year. They're not that comfortable and took up too much storage space. I think the guy I gave them to had to throw them out, his wife didn't like them.

Music is a good one for the important list. I have a bunch of CDs on the boat but since we play them almost all the time while underway they have gotten old. Meanwhile we have a bunch more at home that don't get played much all all. Just another example of messed up priorities.
