I well remember what Connie said when we first viewed our new to us boat. " my God! I love this boat! It has Great hand rails everywhere!" But honey I said, they are all brass!! and need to be polished all the time ! Thats OK she said I sorta like them a little tarnished!! Dog Gone what a first Mate I have LOL And to make a long story short ! They are still a little tarnished!! LOL But ya do gotta love a boat with hand hold everywhere! No matter how big the boat !!

Re: I Love Our Boat!!!

I have one of the old Den Haan Trawler oil lamps in my boat. It's probably 40 years old and never been polished. Each year it grows a little more character. There are a few items I always keep when I sell a boat. My 1943 Bakelite barometer, Bakelite clock and my Den Haan well tarnished lantern. I had a Rusky come aboard my previous boat and could not stop telling me how to shine the lantern up. No matter how many times I told him that I liked it that way, he insisted that I follow his directions. To shut him up, I told him that I thought he was KGB......He left.
