I like Ensenada!

We've been at Cruiseport Village for a month now. The marina is nice, excellent security, and everyone here is somewhere between pleasant and great. a 45 foot slip is less than $400.00 a month.
We just went out for Chinese food. We got a "plato economico", two items with egg rolls and fried rice, enough food for the three of us. The Grande size was 80 pesos. 80/13.7 = $5.82.
Last week we went out for Mexican food. We had 7 tacos pastor, 3 sodas, a burrito, and some beans and tortillas. It was 70 pesos.
I really feel much safer here than I did in LA or Newport or San Diego. It's been warm at least part of every day, never hot and never cold. Went surfing yesterday, my wetsuit was too warm for these conditions. The water was clear and clean, good friends and good waves.
This is the happiest that I've been for years.
The very concept of a civilized, responsible, conventional life can kiss my furry white ass!

Its good to hear of pleasant things in Mexico nowdays. There is so much horror going down there now. Keep us in the loop as you wander farther south. What is the rest of the coast like?

Re: I like Ensenada!

It is a cool place,I too like Ensenada..If you head south toward Schamens lagoon(Guarrero Negro),(Black Warrior) you will have more fun...Dont think the whales are birthing now but there are lots and lots of cool things to see and do in the area...the Unesco heritage site at Cuavo Raton(sp?)(rat cave) is really cool ..you can go on donkey expeditions into the caynons and see very cool cave art and camp out for a few days.you have to take food for you and the guide but it is worth the effort, really nice me thinks!! Up in the interior you can see giant Nautilus fossils in strata..nice place for sure..also worlds largest(?) salt works are there, sort of interesting...then south and east into the Sea of Cortez, great fishing and they have those giant Humbolt squid that change colors and sometime drag fisherman down to Davey Jones locker(God forbid)...good luck ...DVC

On second thought, don't come to Mexico, it's too dangerous. Tonight we were walking the dog and came across another family with a dog. As they were playing, the dogs' leashes got tangled! It was horrible and this was all a big mistake. You should see a news story in America soon detailing all the terror we had to endure tonight.

That was a joke. I am sarcastic often.

Steve...Come back...The Santa Cruz, Newport and San Diego harbor "police" miss you. We can find you a nice job as a wrench in a Porche shop working on rich snot-nose's kids cars. Dinner will only be $60 for the three of you. Steve...give up this silly pipe dream you have...It can only end in sorrow!

Re: I like Ensenada!

I have only great memories from Ensenada. Cruiseport is a very nice and friendly marina. Please say hello to Jonathan and everybody in the office.

Re: I like Ensenada!

Two must stops on the way south for surf is San Juanico (Scorpion Bay) and Punta Canejo. Some of the best surf on the baja. I miss it everyday.
