I Just Bought a Boat !
I have been a member of this forum for almost 5 years now. I have bought and owned a few smaller boats. Today I just but my first big boat. S/v "Callisto", 1983 35 ft CAL. I am so totally psyched!!!!!!!!!!!!
And nervous. I haven't really been sleeping a lot lately in anticipation of this sale, I don't feel like a will until I deliver her myself to her new berth in Boston and have her tucked away nicely for the winter.
I will post pictures soon. It looks like the broker just took the listing off of yachtworld....cause I own her. Ha ha ha!!!!

Re: I just bought a boat!
Congratulations!!!!!
This is really great news!!!!
Please keep us informed in great detail how your adventure shapes up.
Non-boat owners will harrass you with the old canard -- a boat is a hole in the water you throw money into. What they don't realize is this -- that there is nothing on earth, other than perhaps a young mistress, that is more satisfying to spend money on, than a boat!
Cheers, Dockhead

Re: I just bought a boat!
When I pulled the trigger on the b40 I was very nervous also. There was a stomach churning 2 day drive up to Maine. My dad went w/me and he is a big sailor(got me into it) and having him there helped. It all worked out well in the end...

Don't listen to this bull hockey!!!
Every day since I bought my boat -- working on a thousand of them -- is one happier than the next. Having a boat = life. Not having a boat = death by a thousand land-based cuts. Don't listen to the nay-sayers!
