How to showcase your boat or Bumfuzzles quit sailing
Many of us have followed the episodes of Pat and Ali for some time.
They have altered plans, bought a very old motorhome to refurbish, and are selling their Spindrift 43.
Take a look how well it is showcased. No clutter, no loose wires, no dirty dishes or clothes and everything shines.
A far cry from many ads we have all seen. Plus competitively priced.
Many, including a ton of brokers, could take lessons from this.

"Showcased" is probably the right word.

Re: How to showcase your boat or Bumfuzzles quit sailing
I am astounded.
I have never seen a boat of that age that looks so good. It looks new - like it sailed out of the factory yesterday. It has inspired me to realize just what can be done with an old boat.
How long before it is snapped up? A day? A week?

Now that is the way to market a boat. I suspect it won't last long.

Price is excellent and you can't ask for better documentation about the boat's condition, use, upgrades, maintenance, etc. than Bumfuzzle.com

I've Got a Birchwood 33' aft cabin Motor Cruiser in the canal du Midi in the South of France much the same condition, with a 3 month guarantee on engine and gearbox for 69.500 euro's
Will varnish the steering wheel for the new owner, or give him a new one as a luck penny.

Re: How to showcase your boat or Bumfuzzles quit sailing
Part of the marketing of a boat is to get people to fall in love with it before they ask any hard questions, like "Does it meet my needs?" or "Do I need a boat with a 6 1/2 foot draft?" or maybe something as simple as "Does it leak?"

Great photography and presentation. Never heard how the hole in the block worked out being rebuilt in Mexico, was he able to salvage it?

Re: How to showcase your boat or Bumfuzzles quit sailing
Yes, these folks obviously understand how to sell a boat. Contrast that with this photo from a listing on Yachtworld...
Come on, really!?! And aren't all the listings on Yachtworld put up by brokers? Shouldn't a broker have at least some little clue as to how to sell a boat?

I know, right?! And don't even get me started on the prices, everyone knows the horrifying time I am having trying to negotiate that insanity. This is a beautiful boat and priced well for condition, size, age, location. IMHO. And thanks Pat for no shots of the toilet bowl. It's the little things.
