Post How much time do you spend on the forums?

Be honest, do the maths, how much time do you spend on forums?

1 - Less than 1hr a week
2 - 2-5 hrs a week
3 - 6-12 hrs a week
4 - 13-24hrs a week
5 - More than 24hrs a week

I dunno how ya'll find the time! You could spend 4hrs a day here and still only scratch the surface... and this is not the only like place on the interweb!
I'm sure there are a bunch of you who manage much more than that.
I'll go for months without checking in, but every now and then i'm drawn for my own education or interest, or to help others along. I find that once im in the web, its hard to get out.

In the winter some of us are arm chair sailors and this is the best entertainment for sailors other then going on the beach.

I'm still trying to understand the concept of "winterizing".

Re: How much time do you spend on the forums?

Depends. When we are tucked in for hurricane season in the Carib or winter here in the Med, probably 3-4hrs a day. When we leave and start the sailing season almost none unless we get stuck for a few days due to weather.

Also if we do not have good internet, none.

I guess I'm a reluctant recluse. Here I get to stick my head out when I want to and retreat into my hole when I dont. Maybe I should change my moniker to "hermit crab".

Re: How much time do you spend on the forums?

2.

I find the cruisers forum to have a much higher signal to noise ratio than the internet in general.

It has a good balance of very experienced people contributing and mostly entertaining rants.

The topics are both general and specific. I use it as my little private space several timrs each day to get away from the rat race for a few minutes.

Re: How much time do you spend on the forums?

When it's too cold to be on the boat, I'm on a lot (which is probably why I come off as a grouch sometimes).

If it's nice outside, or I'm actually cruising, I have to admit I don't get on the internet much.

Re: How much time do you spend on the forums?

I live aboard and am retired. In the winter time I basically become a hermit waiting for spring. CF becomes part of my morning ritual with my coffee.
