I am not a full time cruiser. Instead I use it when I am working on a customer site. I was speaking with a
broker recently and he asked how many days I spend on her a year. I told him last year I spend 122 days.
He then told me a story of an individual
purchasing a new $900,000 (usd)
boat to replace his $490,000 (usd)
boat. Each July, the owner calls the marina to have it put in the
water, he
sails for two weeks and then has it pulled back out, winterized and it sits until next year.
I don't begrudge anyone who wants to spend their
money in any
legal way they wish. However, it has me thinking. For those of you where your boat is not your only/primary residence how many days a year do you really spend on it? I suspect if you are reading CSF, you are probably more likely to spend more time on your boat, but how much...
