I am not a full time cruiser. Instead I use it when I am working on a customer site. I was speaking with a broker recently and he asked how many days I spend on her a year. I told him last year I spend 122 days.
He then told me a story of an individual purchasing
a new $900,000 (usd) boat
to replace his $490,000 (usd) boat
. Each July, the owner calls the marina to have it put in the water
, he sails
for two weeks and then has it pulled back out, winterized and it sits until next year.
I don't begrudge anyone who wants to spend their money
in any legal
way they wish. However, it has me thinking. For those of you where your boat is not your only/primary residence how many days a year do you really spend on it? I suspect if you are reading CSF, you are probably more likely to spend more time on your boat, but how much...
