HIN history for hurricane, collision damage?

Living in Florida, we have had lots of hurricane damaged boats in past several years. We are in the market for boat right now and would like to know if there is a way to look up history for a Hull ID Number? When buying a used car, you can research past accidents online. How about for a boat?

Thanks for any input!
