As a replacement for the original poorly-insulated
icebox in my
C&C 27, I'm planning to install a Dometic drawer
refrigerator this spring. However, I'm perplexed by a warning in the manual that I need to ensure a minimum 50mm ventilation on "all four sides of the
cooling unit." Since mounting the unit requires fastening into bulkheads on either side, how can I ensure the air flow is not restricted? I plan to mount the
compressor on a shelf well below the drawer as close to the
hull as practicable. Dometic tech support seems to consist of "read the manual". Any
advice would be appreciated, please -- and thankyou.
