Re: Hangkai Chinese Engines - $225 New

You obviously only see what you want to see in order to perpetuate your views. Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy?

Right back at ya.

I'd rather be right AND happy, which I am

A supplier of raw product is not a manufacture of end product

If that was the case Australia would in your eyes be the manufacturer of every car, ship, building, plane, etc etc etc etc on the planet.

Or...you missed the valid reasons we gave for boycotting China.

I think we should boycott any nation that invades other countries.

I’m struggling to buy anything now

confused now... Is this not David Ess the arch free-marketer, the capitalist's capitalist? The guy who'd no doubt see how China's opening up and embrace of free enterprise has lifted so many Chinese out of poverty and into the middle-class, and given them values more closely aligned with our own? Not to mention profits to western companies and low costs to western consumers...

I can't square that guy with this one. Can two people on CF have the same handle?

It's still amusing to see people using Chinese-made computers to send anti-Chinese messages over an Internet of Chinese-made hardware. Any radios or other electronics on your boat? It's simply not possible to effectively "boycott China" without removing oneself from western civilization. Sounds good to say you are though, amirite?

I can indeed see that you're confused. In a free market economy , we are also free to give our custom to those we want. If you like to help support China, no problem with me. You might even want to buy a new Diesel Duck made in China....not me.

I'm certain you're not actually boycotting Chinese-made goods. List what you buy; most of it will have significant Chinese content.
