"Green" Propane Tank Connection - Europe
Hi everyone, we have an American Weber Go Anywhere grill that we love for boating. We brought it with us on the move to Sweden, but didn't realize the propane tanks are different. Does anyone know what type of adapter we could buy to connect to the US regulator.

Gas-bottle are a major head-ache in Europe. Above chart misses a few common connectors. To make things worse, in many places in the EU meanwhile it's forbidden to refill bottles not conforming to local standards and connectors.
All you can do is refill them on you own with all included risks.

I don't even have an empty bottle to refill, so I am looking for an adapter to connect my regulator to the EU tanks.

Weber doesn't sell the parts, which is to be expected given that the grill is availble complete for $60. Here is the converter for using an American 20 pound tank rather than the one pound bottle.

Those cylinders look like these, the price is eye watering.

Gas BBQs are easily available in Europe, buy another one is probably the easiest way.
As Cooper's diagram shows its a nightmare, and he hasn't mentioned the left handed threads which some come with.

The adapter in the package is opposite of what you need I think.
Do you want to hook the grill to another small bottle or a line going to a larger tank? So maybe one fitting to solve the regulator and another fitting to adapt American threads to European standard fittings?
Or maybe you have a machinst friend who could the make the adapter as one piece and who can be paid with a boat ride and barbeque party...?

Re: "Green" Propane Tank Connection - Europe
Trying to adapt the propane bottle fitting will be very difficult (impossible?) to do safely even if parts can be located. The regulator has a center stem and rubber seat that does not lend itself to any intermediary adapter.
Your best bet would be to go with a local bottle and regulator and adapting the pipe fittings on your grill. This means removing the regulator on your Weber and adapting from NPT pipe threads to metric. From memory, I believe the Weber is 1/4" male NPT.
Here is an adapter to metric. From there you'll have to adapt to whatever propane hose is used locally. Not necessarily easy, but should be possible.

Good luck. Plumbing part compatability is bad enough without the added complexity of thread change. I feel your pain.
Peter.

"Green" Propane Tank Connection - Europe
The American 1” thread tends to be used almost exclusively for propane and mapp gas torches in Europe as a result the gas is very expensive , I can pay up to 20 euros for the small refill
Adapters to hose are available , I converted my us force 10 bbq to camping gas bottles via a high pressure regulator

Re: "Green" Propane Tank Connection - Europe
Sweden uses a soft nose POL connector on propane tanks, so you need a high pressure hose with one end 1"-20 male fitting and the other the male soft nose POL.
You have several options:
1. Import from the US, such pigtails are common.
2. Go to a local gas supply / camping / grill vendors and see if it's available.
3. Go via a second adaptor, specifically the german one. Such pigtails are available there for converting US grills. They also have adaptors from 1"-20 to common european type cartridges.

I'd like to go option 3 if possible, but I can't find anything. I was considering to try to find a way to get a barb fitting to attach to the orifice fitting and then go to rubber hose to a new regulator.

Barb fittings are only for the low pressure side, your regulator is on the grill and the full bottle pressure is on the hose, and this requires pressed in fittings.
For option 3, going via a german adapter, from a german shop:
You need article number 9040 or 9045 https://www.wynen-gas.de/grill-adapt...2&page_iso26=2 and article nr. 579 https://www.wynen-gas.de/entnahmeada...tml?isorc=2542
You screw 579 directly into a standard swedish tank, then use the hose with the fittings to connect it to your grill.
If you want to use a small european gas cartrige wit screw fitting, the type for camping stoves, (for example to keep the grill portable without a big gas tank) you have several options:
If you buy 9040 or 9045 you can also buy 9058 and use it instead of 579 (cartrige must sit upright). If you want to eliminate the hose, you buy 9057, wich performs the same function in a rigid piece.
For option 2, buy in Sweden:
As far as I can see (please see return policies before buying, I don't guarantee it) this is the hose you need, it fits the swedish bottle and the american grill: https://www.outnorth.se/primus/hose-...d711e#Nocolour
