Green Cove Springs Check In

Can anyone let me know if they are going to check on their boat after this storm? I am in dry storage at GCS and won't be able to make it down to Florida for a couple of weeks. It might be good to know if I need to get a claim rolling.

I rode out the storm on my boat at GCS Marina and was back there yesterday. I didn't see any damage at all to any boats on the hard. Maybe some minor dings from flying debris but none toppled over as far as I know.

Spoke with Bob yesterday and the only problem he mentioned were the boats that dragged or broke the mooring pendants. One is sunk in front of the travel lift so no one is going to be going in or out until they can get the boat raised.

Not for boats on the hard but different story from the mooring fields. One sunk, an OI 41 that is probably totaled, one cat with a 2'X3' hole in one hull, another cat with a both hulls pretty scraped up, a Hinkley B40 and 6-7 other boats that broke free and spent the night pounding against the piers.

Correct. I didn't closely inspect what was hanging (or not hanging) on the bow of every boat but I estimate at least half the boats on moorings no one came to prep for the storm and they were mostly on single mooring pendants.

At least three boats dragged the mooring block. Two were large cats with a lot of windage but one was a double ender, looked like a Hans Christian I think, that also dragged the mooring.

It might have happened but I didn't notice any boats with intact pendants dragging just a chain so don't think any of the chains broke.

Thanks for the intel guys. Those mooring are just the "hoop your own bowline through this eyelet" type of mooring so it's not wonder lines wore through. So glad all of the boats on jackstands made it through ok. I just got pics of mine and it looks a-ok.
