Re: Got a plastic classic?

Thanks ! We are really looking forward to it. And that "we" part is really the best part, because my wife is really onboard (haha) with it this time around. In fact, I pretty much let her pick the boat - within certain specs. I would have gone larger, but she wanted to feel like she could handle it solo if needed, and bigger just intimidates her too much. So, she's happy, I'm happy, and we move forward together. Much better !!

Re: Got a plastic classic?

Couple of shots of our old Alberg 30. Started out as a 55 year old derelict on the beach. Covered in algae, moss and pine needles, but beautiful lines, good 25 hp Diesel engine and structurally sound. Lovely keel boat. 10 years latter we sold it as a fully equipped singlehanded offshore cruising boat. Young man who bought it sailed to Hawaii, so pacific, Phillipines, and on to mainland China, near Tanjian, where he learned to speak Cantonese. Mostly singlehanded. We retired then, but now thinking of following him in an Alberg 37 or Baba 35, whatever we can find that fits our budget and interests…. Great times, punctuated with a few moments of shear panic, as the last pic attempts to show.
