Gori prop

I have a Gori prop mounted to an SD 60 saildrive/Yanmar 80hp. When shifting from reverse to forward the engine requires nearly 2000 rpm before moving to forward and "slams" into gear. Has anyone experienced this problem? Gori rep says it is a transmission problem which I doubt. Comments appreciated.

We have a Gori prop on a standard prop shaft (not saildrive). Have never had such a problem.

First of all I strongly recommend that you find a solution to this problem ASAP because big shocks are never appreciated by the S-Drive transmission.

Have you checked if the blade gears are clean from barnacles and if blades move easily ? On folding props gears are exposed to incrustations which would impede a smooth blade opening
If blades movement is OK...then it might actually be a transmission problem
