Err... you might find that ballast doesn't move fast enough on your 23'er and that you will have to clear the cockpit before attempting to tack.

You sound like someone with vastly more experience with that than me, and if I recall, didn't "she" sail on your boat when she was on some vacation or something down your way? Any tips and tricks to share?

I am sorry, I didn't mean for you to mistake me as someone who kisses and tells. We don't do that when we go downunder.

But if I could possibly say anything, I would whisper - brandy

NorthPacific was just about to partake, I believe :-))

As a side commentary, and a drift back to the "use real name " debate... Is this thread (and this one is super tame) really what you would want to come up in Google when, for example your prospective boss types in your name? What about posts on a gun thread, or your dream about retiring early?

Ben Franklin was involved with discussion groups in most towns where he lived. This was a time when offending someone could easily cause you to have to choose between pistols or swords. They had a rule that said you always had to phrase your position as a question. IE "Is it possible that a scoop anchor holds better in some bottoms than a plow?" That cut down the blood shed. Still, there is a lot to be said for personal accountability.
Sure....

Oh my bad...did I just flame him because I don't beleive him? Does he have thin skin...so thin that my reply will anger him?

Gimme a break.

Flame war?

I have been on several message boards (still am) and have been involved in flame wars....especially the biker forum I go to. Still friends....except for 4 out of hundreds....I doubt very seriously that one of those four would have ever made my life any better.
Does one really need to be able to go through life and claim they have thousands of friends?
OR
do they not know the difference between friend and aquaintance?

I thought I was using my real name, but I just found out it's the name of a cartoon "Power Ranger". ......... and that song by "The Animals" rattles in my head, "Oh Lord! Please don't let me be misunderstood"

Hmmmm, I'll take that as a "no" to my question about CF ever having considered using real names.

No, please don't let me be misunderstood! I use my real name. I was just sorry to see it hijacked by a cartoon character!
