Yesterday, I finished
ASA 101! It had been a long time since I'd taken a test of any kind, so I was relieved to score a 100.
The sailing was pretty good, with a decent amount of steady
wind the first day. Light and variable winds the second day made things challenging. Not to mention that we were in NY Harbor trying to stay out the way of the Circle Line and tugs pushing barges! We did the
MOB exercise a few hundred yards north of Liberty Island, just east of Ellis. It was a lot of fun and the skipper/instructor was great.
Now that I'm confident in my basic skills, I'll post in
Crew Available in hopes of getting some days in my log book.
After all the reading, lurking on CF and looking at
boat porn on yachtworld, I finally feel like a
member of the club!
