Drive Not Connected

Is the error message on my Raymarine auto helm.

Any ideas on what’s wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Rick

Re: Drive Not Connected

Either no power to the drive or the connection was lost. Start with a volt meter, then start tracing wires/NMEA/Seatalk cables.

Re: Drive Not Connected

Thanks Office,
Dave at Ray’s tells me that the SPX 30 puts out both 6 and 12 volts but can’t tell me when or why.
In Marsh Harbor, after this rain clears I will be messing around on my sugar scoop with a couple of wires and a battery.

You have 4 wires going to the drive. 2 for the clutch and 2 for the drive unit. They 12 volts (unless you have a 24 volt system setup). Check the connections on these wires.

Re: Drive Not Connected

I only have two. The polarity switches to extend or retract. Old school.
