Since your former employer uses CF, I wonder what they are thinking about all of this.
WotName, if you ever need a place to crash in the U.S., you certainly have earned it and we'll leave the light on for ya and a tinny or two in the reefer!

Wot blushes (and where is that darn blushing emoticon).
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I am sure most (all?) of you would do the same if similar sh!t happened in your neck of the woods.
In case anyone is wondering, Boatman has proved himself to be an exemplary house guest - even his bad habits aren't as bad as mine

Everyone will say that they would, but you actually have done it, so much kudos to you.
That last paragraph could be a ploy to pass him on to someone else now.
Coops.

Re: Don't Pay The Ferryman...
Experience has shown me that the initial threat and subsequent instigation of legal process brings one of two things.
1) A quick resolution where the other side simply doesn't want the grief.
2) A protracted, drawn out resolution where usually, in hindsight, it's best to get on with life whilst the mill grinds.
Friends will boost your feelings as will the satisfaction of actually doing something about it.
The only time i've seen quick resolution was where a writ was put on the mast, funds were paid into trust within 24 hours and mediation went ahead.
The normal assumption of the other side is 'if we drag this out he has no money and will just go away', no doubt this has been discussed and may well be their tactic.
Embarrasment may play a part as well, no one likes to be in the limelight with a dangling writ on the mast, even this forum will have embarrassed unless the skins are thick.
Lets hope there is a good resolution with fairness for all.

Re: Don't Pay The Ferryman...
I'm looking forward to seeing pics of boatman at Ascot on Tuesday with top hat and stripe pants . . . . . I reckon he'll scrub up just fine.

A common mistake.
Can always find a lawyer to argue a case - what you need is one who can advise whether your case really is good enough to win......and then, as you say, just a matter of waiting for the wheels to turn.
If you have a good case, then simply a matter of slowly slowly catchee monkee . if you have a bad case then stringing things out is a mistake.
