How dare you deprive the banks of any extra blood, er monies that they can squeeze from you.
Now you'll owe them more, shame on you. Or shame on someone.

Ahhh true... but Islamic banks are anti 'usuary' and loans are interest free (allegedly).... dunno if one has to be 'off the Faith' but apart from that doubt they're any worse... just make sure I open the statements from the bottom... and run from bank messengers in big coats on sunny days...

Re: Don't Pay The Ferryman ...
Considering everything is sent electronically and computers don't get vacations...why does money work on "business days".

Re: Don't Pay The Ferryman ...
Money transfers can take a week or more, Thats Bank to Bank,
There is a middle man in there some where that also takes his cut, I found that out the hard way,
I now pay instantly by Visa, world wide,, It is instant payment, Its also cheaper than a money transfer,
Ring them up and pay over the phone, That way you know where your hard earned is going,
But it dosen't matter which way you pay, They get you all ways,
Receiving a payment,They could ring your bank and pay it in by Visa,

Re: Don't Pay The Ferryman ...
The cheapest way to transfer money is via a private agency such as Ozforex. In this case had the cheque gone to boatman's lawyer in Perth he could have transferred to boatman for a cheque fee of $20 or so plus 1% commission.
If I had done this through my bank they would have charged a cheque fee of $35 plus commission of 2 1/2%.
Big deals are cheaper. I bought my boat on 1/2% commission. Take note anyone looking to buy a boat. You can transfer any currency in 2 business days max.
