That is the spot!! Add a couple of hammocks between the trees, some camp chairs, a fire pit and perhaps an ez-up if needed.

Re: Deserted Islands

Dreaming of going to a deserted island and living there?

You might enjoy this film from 1986. "Castaway" with Oliver Reed and Amanda Donohoe.

__________

Someone up above posted a link to a youtube video showing how a young couple fared on an uninhabited "desert" island in the Pacific. They were pestered by mosquitos, and the young woman became very ill. This was an uncomfortable experience for both, despite the years of dreaming and planning the young man had done prior to living on the island. As I recall, he only lasted a few months too.
__________

The topic of "deserted islands" is an interesting one, I suspect for anyone with a boat or anyone who has heard of Robinson Crusoe.

I also suggest doing a "Google Custom Search" of this forum using key word "deserted island" as there are other older threads where similar topic discussion has taken place.

__________

Also encourage reading in this forum (do another Google Custom Search) for term "Palmyra" island too. Very interesting history regarding cruisers.

Re: Deserted Islands

I enjoy a beautiful deserted island during the day, swim, romp on the beach, explore, snorkel, but when the sun goes down....it is back to the boat, nice shower, nice meal..sans sand and a lovely sleep between clean sheets without any bugs.

Start the next day with a French Roast coffee and a feeling that I have somehow evolved...

Re: Deserted Islands

Yes it is possible. God rest his soul Mike did it on Camp Lulu for years. Even after the state realized he was there.

The answer is not on the Internet, it is out there.

Re: Deserted Islands

I know of a few, uninhabited and large islands. They are all north of 60.

Opps, just saw you wanted tropical. Hey, these might do!

Re: Deserted Islands

Not sure about camping ashore, but how about swim back to the boat? More comfortable aboard. But you'll need water & other comforts. Possible to buy lobster or crab from local fishermen in wooden cayucos. There may be places similar to what you describe, but we're not telling!

Ive seen a few but none have fresh water. Without water you wont last very long.

There's some that then attempt to attribute them moving, to 'rising sea levels'. *laughs*

With many though, you have to watch at night, unless you have good mosquito nets ashore. Best to be anchored a ways offshore at night and let them starve.
Didn't realise Peter Dutton was onboard! Classic climate change humour, really great stuff.
