Well, just let us know! Since we'll undoubtedly be buying a used boat ourselves, we'll need people to return the favor.

Re: Denaming Ceremony / BBQ - Everett, WA
As of tomorrow the vessel will no longer be known as TRIX. Heck, it doesn't even look the same. Never got the gathering but I'll have a couple marina friends sign off the certifcate.
Here are the before and after pictures. Right now it has a white undercoat but it'll soon be Interlux yellow, as soon as the weather is right for the final painting.

I drive down I-5 every day to work and have been watching your progress. It's looking good. If you need a witness of the naming, let be know and I'll stop off on my way in.
It great to put a name to effort I have been seeing.
Cheers!

Re: Denaming Ceremony / BBQ - Everett, WA
A christening/renaming ceremony should be done with proper circumstance, including a script, tree branch, wine, and toasts.
CHRISTENING OF RECREATIONAL VESSEL CARQUINEZ COOT JUNE 25, 2011 For thousands of years, we have gone to sea. We have crafted vessels to carry us, and we have called them by name. They will nurture and care for us through perilous seas, and so we affectionately call them “she.” To them we toast and ask to celebrate Carquinez Coot.
Raise glasses and all shout TO THE SAILORS OF OLD … TO CARQUINEZ COOT. All take a sip of beverage.
The moods of the sea are many, from tranquil to violent. We ask that this boat be given the strength to carry on. The keel is strong, and she keeps out the pressure of the sea.
Raise glasses and all shout TO THE SAILORS OF OLD … TO CARQUINEZ COOT. All take a sip of beverage.
Today we come to name this lady Carquinez Coot, and send her to sea to be cared for, and to guard Mark and Perla. We ask the sailors of old and the mood of God that is the sea to accept Carquinez Coot as her name, to help her through her passages, and allow her to return with her crew safely.
Raise glasses and all shout TO THE SAILORS OF OLD … TO CARQUINEZ COOT. All take a long sip of their beverage.
The speaker pours champagne over the bow and places a branch of leaves on the boat’s deck.
All shout HURRAH!
Speaker reads red
Everyone shouts blue

Greetings from the other coast, Del. I'd forego the BBQ to just eyeball all the small improvements you've made based on your photos and posts. I drink to ye, mate!

The insignia looks very much like the Haider tribal art work.... I like this style very much.
Alas a long from from the Middle East - but I will raise a glass from here

Welcome aboard!
Thanks! You're one of a few that go by daily and have been watching. Even my ex-boss called me on the cell and asked "What are you doing working in the rain?".
As we PNW'rs know, when is it not raining? Answer: When it's too hot! And that's the problem with the final paint. Can't paint in the direct sun or the rain.
I'll have to get their early and paint the shady side and then wait until after noon to get the other side. Preferably, a cool day.

Del,
What Cheechako said.
I'm knee deep in the production of the Island County Fair.

Re: Denaming Ceremony / BBQ - Everett, WA
looks great! Saw it on the drive in yesterday. You have had some great weather to get the work done. Looks like it might even hold for a few more days.
Cheers
