Some practical realities - on a long term cruise, you do
not want:
an inside cabin - no view of outside without getting dressed.
an oceanview cabin - no fresh air without getting dressed.
a cabin near the bow -
anchor chain noise (up or down) will wake you in the middle of the night & in bad
weather your body will be physically see-sawing up & down with the bow pitching as you try to sleep.
a cabin near the stern -
engine noise & vibration will wake you in the middle of the night & in bad
weather your body will be physically see-sawing up & down with the stern pitching as you try to sleep.
A cabin too high up - in bad weather your body will be physically swaying that much further back & forth sideways through space with the ship rolling as you try to sleep.
A constant succession of short term party time neighbours - those cabin walls are thin.
You do want: a balcony - with a view - great to relax out there in your bathrobe.
A partner who does not snore - you will have no escape unless you spring for a proper full blown suite (NOT a junior suite - which is not actually a suite at all in the normal
hotel room sense of the word).
Ideally, a decent size bath. If my wife is any indicator, 3 months is way too long for some just using showers.
Have a great trip.
