Coolant Hose

I’m due to replace hoses that run coolant thru my hot water system from the Volvo TAMD60c. I notice the existing hose is rated as 250psi. Standard heater hose is only rated at around 60 psi. Do I need such high psi hose just to push hot coolant thru the water heater?

Re: Coolant Hose

Look for the new, blue silicone water hose. It has a blue jacket and a red liner. You see it on new big rigs. I found some at a hose shop.

Coolant Hose

You don’t need such high PSI rated hose, it won’t exceed the pressure the radiator cap is set for.
Silicone hose is fine, I like it. But it’s expensive, but should last nearly forever.
However it won’t tolerate any oil or fuel spill on it.
