If you can't shop for him, how the heck are we supposed to - LOL

OTOH he is not doing his part. You guys have a boat and he says he needs nothing - he's full of egg nog.

I have a boat and an endless list of stuff I want. Every economic range from $15-$1,500 and beyond.

But the accumulation of junk has stopped. Last Christmas I got

Who's the Skipper - A knowledge game sorta like trivial pursuit - never played
A dorky Gilligans Island Skipper hat - never worn
A sea bag - never used

If you think he'd like any of this crap send me an address. I would hpbe happy to regift it.

This year I shared my list better and hope I get stuff I want / need...

Some stuff on my list
Anemometer
Hand bearing compass
Dremel tool kit
Speed screw driver - acts like a ratcheting screwdriver but drives in one "switchable" direction as you turn the handle both ways
Dockline snubbers - those puppies are expensive!
8 spinlocks - those puppies are really expensive!
Cabinetry books
All the "bible" books mentioned On CF that I will never get around to buying myself - Calder boat and electric books for example
ITunes gift card
Best buy gift card
West Marine gift card
Up to 4 inflatable pfds - i wanna get rid of some of the bulky foam ones to save space
New groovy inflatable pfd with harness - every boy needs one
Bosuns chair
Led nav and position lights

The list goes on...

Re: Xmas Pressies For The Sailor Who Has Everything

Try these:
  • Custom t-shirt/sweatshirt/hat/polo shirt with your boat's name and logo
  • Apple app store gift card to fill that iPad2 with these great sailing apps: Best Apps for Sailing and Boating
  • Framed photo collage of your boat/family on the boat

Re: Xmas Pressies For The Sailor Who Has Everything

My wife and I swore not to get each other anything for Xmas, but before we did I was thinking about getting her-

- Those fancy sheets purpose made for boats that are supposed to breathe easy and prevent moisture and cost a fortune (sheetx or something like that).

- Sailing gloves.

- A new dinghy (yes my wife is awesome).

- weather gear">Foul weather gear.

These are all thing we will eventually buy anyway (except for those sheets), but since we don't need them right now there is no need to buy them.

You get a bottle of scotch and leave it on the table. Take off all your clothes and tie a bow around yourself. If family asks what he got for xmas and he answers, "Scotch!" in a little bit too-fast-too-loud voice, you know you got him just what he wanted.

But do I recall that you guys were in the diving business? So maybe you already have plenty of dive lights laying about. In that case, never mind.
Yup we have plenty, but not to say we can't use more. HWMO always puts me on a leash in the hardware store to keep me away from the torches.

That all sounds well cool - address on its way!!! I especially want the captains hat - it's all that's missing from my Saucy Sailoress costume!

Seriously, tho.... I love your xmas list... I think I'll use it - there are a few things there that I know he'd appreciate.

What are they? We have rug rats....
Brilliant idea. I'll get one for me, otherwise he'll say I only want it fr my marmite on toats anyway

Who are you, and how do you know this?
Turtle Matts soak up EVERYTHING, and then can be washed clean to repeat. Perfect for the bottom of the companion way or right outside the heads when you've still got wet feet and don't want to track those feet across the floor boards (somethin I cop a bit of flack over).

We sort of sail in the same pond (and have raced against you guys a couple of times (that's you guys in the background)).
