Chip for Raymarine GPS

So I recently signed a contract to buy a small powerboat. It has a Raymarine GPS.....2006 model A 65. It takes a chip. My question is.... Where can I buy a chip that covers southern New England?

Re: Chip for Raymarine GPS

The A65 can only use Navionics CompactFlash (CF) cards. I believe these have now been discontinued.

@goboatingnow - What makes you think that CF cards have been discontinued by Navionics?

They are still being offered on their website as an orderable option : https://www.navionics.com/usa/charts...=NavionicsPlus

Going to be a lot of disgruntled C and E series users if proved true.

RE: [CA11] Chart compatibility for A65
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum whidbeyben,

Unfortunately, the A60 and A65 Chartplotters and Chartplotter /Fishfinders are no longer supported. These displays were designed for use with Navionics Silver chart cards, but also functioned with Navionics Gold and HotMaps chart cards available during the period when the A60 and A65 Chartplotters and Chartplotter /Fishfinders. Should the function like the A/C/E-Series Classic MFDs, then they may also be compatible with Navionics+ chart card which have been erased and have then been populated with no more than 2GB of chart data using the Navioncs Chart Installer computer program offered by Navionics.

Essentially they can’t use the larger CF charts that the E series can handle

Re: Chip for Raymarine GPS

Try ebay or one of the many boating forums out there. They almost all have classifieds. I came across a handful of Cmap NT + chips for an old Raymarine RL80C I have, on a trawler forum that the guy just wanted to get rid of. He even paid shipping!

Re: Chip for Raymarine GPS

Standing by my original view that Navionics CF Cards are still available. I'm hoping that Navionics continue this for some time.

It's true that for older plotters, you have to do some messing around to keep the size of the overall map set down, I had the same issue with my E series.
