Really? The AC 50s seemed to get turned over a few times. Even some of the really big racing tris.... Almost all of the capsizes of 50+ foot boats are racing. And pretty much all of them get turned right side up, and are soon back out racing again.

Something I'm learning from the internet. People really do seem to be blind. (I've seen a few flat Earthers videos lately....)

Hi, everyone,

Another thread was started by <bonedead> in North Carolina, USA, his second post, and somehow I have lost it. However, I did retrieve the url, and he has been notified that I will post it here:

Sorry for the mixup, everyone.

Re: Catamaran capsize.

That's weird, iirc, it was abc news in America, here abc is Australian Broadcasting System.

I'll go try typing in the url on Google and see what comes up. Back soon. Hmm, didn't work for me, either, like it was yesterday's news, or something. I'll go search some more.

Then there's reality. All things aren't always sealed. Sometimes the crew might like to breathe etc.:

True, though an old spray replica with non fixed internal ballast is a bit of a skewed example...

Like I’ve said before on this forum, this debate has no right or wrong answers. Sure monohulls are generally sinkable and cats are not. And monos don’t invert due to wind events, and cats can. How much depends on many factors but seems like higher performance cats are at more risk.
Both sinking and inverting are extremely rare events. If you are careful they are both mostly preventable. Which one scares you more? Or choose your boat based on 1000s of more relevant criteria
