Bulb Leeboards?

I am currently going to school to be a boatbuilder, in my research of all things boat design I have come across bulb keels and Leeboards. What I haven't seen or been able to find is a boat or even a design with bulbs on the leeboards. Has anyone seen or have any information on a bulb Leeboard and what would the effects be, also is it an awful idea? I can't imagine I'm the first person to think of this so I would assume there is good reason for not finding anything. Thanks in advance!

I'm no expert but bulb keels are for ballast/tracking. Lee boards are for tracking. Lee boards are for small vessels where the person's body weight or cargo would provide ballast so I don't see the point of adding weight

There are also lifting keels that provide ballast and can be lifted for shallow water.
