Re: Brand New Sailboat Ready For Open Ocean?

I was thinking about 2000. My son thought I was a fruit cake making marks on the paper about ever half hour. I'm sure there were plotters and such.

I’ve done many new builds for clients

These are big complex yachts

The procedure is ... shipyard commissioning , then a 1or 2 month full on, all systems in action , local cruise , then return to yard for warranty , observations and improvements

Once the yacht leave the yard for the second time it is fully found and ready for action
This cycle takes about 4 months

If it comes then it’s either the insurance company or the bank. Ymmv

Buy the boat, go for a few day and night sails.
You will find out quite quickly what is working for you or what is missing and needs changing.
Not sure what you mean by ' something drastic is going down'?
