Bill Trayfors

Just read a post on the SCCA forum that Bill Trayfors (member name btrayfors) passed away.

He was very knowledgeable in radio and electronics and always ready to contribute to the community. Never got to meet him but shared a lot of messages with him and he sold me a very nice SSB.

Helped out hundreds, thousands of people, always focused on truth and facts, not distracted by personality politics.

For me, DC gensets, battery physics. . .

will be missed

Sad to learn that Bill Trayfors passed away yesterday. He was always a great source of SSB and General Amateur radio knowledge and a gentleman.

My condolences to his family.

Thanks for letting us know.

Hearing that Bill is silent key is a sad day indeed for us on CF -- he was a treasure of knowledge, helpfulness, and good humor. He will be missed.

Re: Bill Trayfors

Oh no, this is very sad news.

I considered Bill a friend and I last saw him in early September tucked into Seal Bay on Vinalhaven Island Maine. Seal Bay was one of his favorite spots and he loved his time cruising Maine. We chatted for about an hour or more and I headed back to our boat for dinner. I had no idea it would be the last time I saw him in person.

Bill was was genuine, knew his stuff, was a damn straight shooter and truly one of the good guys in the industry. I will miss his posts and our cruising chats & drinks when we'd bump into each other.

Eight bells Bill... You will be missed.

Indeed, and ditto.

Yes, I always looked forward to Bill's postings and had hoped that I would get to meet him some day if only on the radio.

RIP Bill.

Re: Bill Trayfors

I was sort of wondering why he hadn't weighed in on any of the electronics threads for quite a while. Very sorry to hear this.

Godspeed, Bill.

Re: Bill Trayfors

We've lost one of our best. To me, Bill exemplified what the spirit of CF should be. He had a great amount of knowledge, shared it freely, and was always pleasant, respectful and friendly.

So sorry he's gone!
