Wow! I've done the "Port Mayaka Limbo" in FL but I don't think I'd try a 15' difference! Takes more nerve than I've got!

That looked so iffy. Until I noticed the lines from the ballast bags to the foot of the masts which should stop them bags getting too far from the hull and tipping the whole lot over.
Did you notice the big ship following him through, looked like that had stopped, waiting to see if the channel had been obstructed.
But how did he get them out so far from the hull in the first place?

I've seen that several times on here but it was worth watching again. We have had several discussions on how to do that but people are wary of the idea so its good to see again. I don't think I would want to try it with a fat boat with light rigging though.

This is the comment from the fellow that posted the video:

I did the same thing using my crew members as counter weights when I ran aground near "stilts ville" in Hawk channel, south of Key Biscaine. It worked great! I had them walk out on the boom then into the bosuns chair to get laid over far enough to clear the coral head I was on - damn near capsized but we got off with no damage!

Excellent seamanship. A true example of what would never be taught in any sailing class, but that can only be learned from example, calculation, and application. Great post.
