Ahoy! Any CF Members in Key West?

Ahoy!

Are there any CF Members in Key West?

My reason for asking?
I will be sailing to Key West in a few days (arrive sometime next week) and as I enjoy meeting other CF Members while I am out sailing, I am asking to see if there are any CF Members living on their boats in Key West, who might like to meet up for a little camaraderie.

I have met some very nice folks through CF, and placing a face to a name is always fun to do.

If you are interested, send me a PM and let me know how to contact you once I get to Key West. I may be offline from Thursday on, but may be able to check my PMs. Due to weather windows, I am not sure of the date I will be in Key West, but it will be soon. I will only be in Key West for a day/night as we continue a longer voyage, but if possible, I would like to meet some local CF Members.

I suppose all the CF members in Key West must be out sailing, or partying.

Fair Winds!

Re: Ahoy! Any CF Members in Key West?

I am currently chillin’ on a catamaran in Grand Cayman island.

Today’s forecast in Dallas (99 degrees Fahrenheit). That’s HOT!

Here in Georgetown, Grand Cayman, the forecast is just 83 degrees.

So, it is relatively cool here in the Caymans!

Last night had a very nice ocean-side dinner of Fish & Chips, hard Ginger Beer, and for desert some tasty Sticky Toffee Pudding! Very good food.

Looking forward to the passage from Grand Cayman to Key West (for check in) and then beyond to the Chesapeake.

Fair Winds!

Key West Update:

Voyage Update: Sunday July 22

A few days ago I sailed from Georgetown, Cayman Islands to Key West Florida, and then on to St. Simon’s Island.

Sailed nonstop from Grand Cayman to Key West, where we spent a day and night for refreshments. This was my first time to visit Key West and I enjoyed it. We were in a marina close to the action. Spent a few hours walking the streets, enjoyed seeing the old architecture (Customs House, private homes) and gardens, I looked in some art galleries, had a few beers, enjoyed the people we met, and spent a few hours in the famous Sloppy Joe’s bar listening to some live music. Had a nice dinner, met some beautiful women from Eastern Europe and New York, had a Mojito and Key Lime Pie, met a few Hemingway lookalikes (nice guys) and generally had a good time.

Key West is a great place for visiting boaters, with a well deserved reputation.
__________

From Key West we sailed nonstop offshore to St. Simons Island.

Then went offshore again to Charleston South Carolina.

Leaving tomorrow to continue our voyage north to Chesapeake.
