1990 Gulfstar 4600 Pilothouse

Hello all , can someone tell me where I can get any Information on the above vessel that I am looking at or know anything about them . I cannot even find anything on the net , gulfstar doesn't read very well and it's all about sail not pure power boat. Pleeese!

As you discovered these not much info on the internet. You can expand your search to include other gulfstar models to get a general idea for design, manufacturing, and performance.

In general gulfstars are considered to be spacious but not as high quality or performance as competing boats.

You can search this forum for Gulfstar and get a snapshot of opinions.

Of course, how a particular specimen was maintained makes a big difference so learn to know what the expensive repairs are- rigging, engine, and saturated decks. If you know what engine is used you can also search on that.

The first three sequential posts I see are these above... hard to see where Gord's welcome message was unclear and/or critical?

In any case, if you're after info on a Gulfstar POWERBOAT -- I think that's what you're asking? -- and if search engine returns aren't satisfactory, then you might find more info on trawlerforum.com (a sister site). And/or there might be an Gulfstar owners group out there somewhere. And/or you might be able to get a general sense of their various models from listings on Yachtworld.com.

Seems like there is a fair amount of information on the net concerning Gulfstar boats for sale. I am an admirer of the older Gulfstar 36 and 43 trawlers built in Texas. I believe the Gulfstar yard was bought up by another company a number of years ago.The newer boats appear to be built in Asia and sold primarily on the Australian market. It would be helpful if someone on this site has information on the builder of the newer boats such as the 4600.

That 4600 doesn't look at all like any of the older Gulfstar boats that I might have seen in the US...
