A related idea. We like to travel and experience new places both by sea and land, so have been looking at house swaps. There are networks on the net for house swaps. Might be interesting to try the same thing with
boats. Rather than make that onerous, and time consuming, trans-oceanic crossing in a
small boat -- just swap with someone already in a venue you want to
cruise. A swap rather than a rental/lease.
I would certainly be up for this with competent captains that I know personally, the concern of course comes with those who you don't know. Verifiable credentials and
references would certainly help. A feedback mechanism (like on Amazon, eBay, etc) would be quite valuable too.
