You need to remember the boat that was €100,000.oo last year is still €100,000.oo this year. The change is not in their money but in your money. A strong US $ will buy more €. A €4 coffee will still cost €4 but will be cheaper in US $.

Most of the repossessions ( in Europe ) occurred in the 2009-2011. Banks typically appoint a conventional boatyard or yacht broker to sell them. They rarely get advertised as such for obvious reasons. By and large you won't find put its a repossession until into the sales process.

Hmmm given the ECB, QE program ends at the end of 2016 or maybe earlier if inflation gets close to the ECB limits, I would suspect its pure fantasy to speculate out to nearly 2018 , it's also likely the fed will have to respond to the strengthening of the dollar as well.

I think we,ll see price rises in the euro value of boats too, the ECB is encouraging ecomonic growth and as a result the Eurozone may see wage inflation as part of the overall return of inflation , coupled with the fact that many input costs in boating are dollar denominated ( GRP etc ) , I suspect will see some price rises.

Before 2008 we in croatia imported used ships from the USA, and now incredibly massive ships exported to the USA and Australia.
Here sample I sell after October 2015 my Bavaria 38 building year 2003 with tax paid for € 55,000 or $ 60,500 and is likely to be October 2015 $ 55,000 and possibly lower, depending on the Greek crisis. In usa is imposibile bay sailboat 38-41 ft 12 year old in condition like new boat for $ 60000 whit tax paid

I think its funny how the BRICs countries are now adding the CRA as a supplement (approx 50 billion more) so as to "hang on" why dont they let N.Korea join and they will reach the final conclusion ; CRAK(ed) BRICs !! With gas prices headed fast toward $ 2.00 (thats US $s or the EURO equvilent not yuan or remimbi folks or rubles!) things seem to be "right on schedule" !! SUPRISE!!

$2.00 gas? Not round here.

Through June oil fell roughly $4.00/barrel and pump prices in RI rose roughly 15c/gallon. The current typical price is $2.79.

Funny thing, we have our own refinery 60 miles up the road, and our own oil.
