What do you consider new?

Doing my end of season scan looking for a deal to good to be true in a market too hot to have any deals it seams.

Anyway... I seem to keep seeing listings where equipment was replaced at some point but is listed as new.

This listing has lots of new stuff... over the last 10 years.

To me it is new until it is used. I could even see "new this season" or this year.
Other than that it should say "replaced in 2014"

Re: What do you consider new?

new = used EVER

everything else is used

But if it says new sail in 2015, that is true. But the sail is now a 5 year old used sail.

Re: What do you consider new?

Yeah, It's new if just installed. Otherwise it's used. But those ads are just meaning to say: "this stuff has recently been replaced"
Figure the life of most "bolt on" items on a boat at 7-8 years maybe.

Salesman wordplay is all...to me such amateur language is a big turn-off, YMMV.
