Now if boats are not being sold and money is so tight, what in the hell is going on around here...........

So, How many of those six offers were accepted and actually sold,
The boat your talking about was sold last week.
Thats only one out of seven.
You sell a used car, how many tyre kickers do you get,
How many offers do you get,
How many offers do you get any where near the asking price,
If these offers are way off the mark.
You still have an unsold car, or in this instance, A boat.

Re: The Market Has Turned
The boat I bought was first advertised for sale in January of this year,
So it was on the market 8 months,
Supply and demand,
Lots of supply and not a lot of demand.
Check out when the boats were first advertised, That will give you an indication of the market,
If they have been on the market for a year or two, the market is not booming,
Or they are asking to much,
Brokers, Used car salesmen, politicians, estate agents,
They all spruik about how great things are, and how things are improving and on the up and up,
No matter how bad things really are, Even when every thing around them is going down the gurgler, Hhahahahahahahahaha

They say the gold and silver bubbles are about to burst too.
Aussie real-estate the last domino to fall ?
My friends with investment properties can't believe it.
Interesting days ahead.

Sure are.
I'm not particularly worried about paper value fluctuations with investment property. If you're not selling it's not losing value, as long as I've got tennants paying rent the bank is happy and so am I.
I don't even think they'd do anything if the LVR went sour. As long as the loan is serviced by the rents they'd be more inclined to let well alone, IMO.

The shine has come off a little right at the moment.
When the Aus$ could only get 94c US, we were dreamin' it might get to parity. Then it got to A$=1.10US$ and we we're over the moon. Now we're down to US$1.03 and suddenly we're feeling cheated!!! I'll never understand people... myself in particular!
Looks like something in the Euro zone could be good for Aussie buyers at the moment too

Re: The Market Has Turned
AUD is currently USD 1.03. It fell 3% last week because of negative news coming out of Greece and nothing to do with Australia itself. It will rise again.
As for boats, 8 months on the market is typical rather than long.
. . . . . . . Yet again VV is too quick for me. Sigh !

Exactly my friend, that's what I have just done, purchased my own floating apartment in the form of a Catalina 42! Bought and paid for!!
Cash in the bank can disappear behind hordes of people queueing up to get their money out.
Here in Australia people lost hundreds of thousands of $$$$ overnight from their super funds when the stock market plunged.
It's time for no debt and budget living.....quite comfotably on a boat!
