Re: Scam?
I'm real eager to see what "Alice's" reply is.
It's amazing what scammers come up with and when you're trying to do legit business, it's real difficult because of these guys.
Life is always interesting ..........

Re: Scam?
Yeah, tell the scammer how long you have been waiting for such an opportunity and how desperate you are to change your life etc etc. STRING THEM ALONG!!!!!

Re: Scam?
If you feel like it, stringing them along is just about the best "punishment" that you can inflict.
I read an article a while back, in a systems security journal, that pointed out that the internet scammers actually try to be a little bit obvious with their scams. It's a numbers thing for them. They contact thousands of people a week, and don't want to spend time with those who aren't going to fall for the scam. So they make it kind of obvious. That way, ordinarily, only the most oblivious--and therefore the most likely to fall for it--will bother to follow up. Everyone else sees it for the scam that it is, and doesn't waste time, their own or the scammers.
The worst thing that can happen to them (other than getting caught, which almost NEVER happens) is someone who knows it is a scam, but strings them along. They end up wasting huge amounts of time and get nothing for it.

Re: Scam?
I'm afraid I must have set the hook too hard and it's cost me Alicia's affection. I'm heartbroken . . . crestfallen. But if Alicia ever decides to whisper sweet nothings in my ear again, you can be sure I'm the type to kiss and tell.

Re: Scam?
Here's a site that deals with scambaiting. Some of their tricks are a bit of fun:
419 Eater - The largest scambaiting community on the planet!

Re: Scam?
I was especially amused when the scammer said it was crated.
