Sailboat Builders and the Economy

happened across this builders site and was somewhat surprised to see this announcement

Photos of Sailing Yachts hand crafted in Maine USA | Sabre Yachts

this particular builder has suspended building any new sailboats for the foreseeable future.
anyone have an idea of the health of the industry or speculation on where it is headed?
My question is related to the under 50' or even under 40' builders. In general it seems the size of sailboats has been steadily increasing for a few decades now. the 70's seemed filled with 30'ers
now the mark seems to be 40' and above.

i'm speculating it has simply to do with good ole supply and demand, i.e. the glut of used boats on the market which will only lead to higher entry prices in the future.

given the low numbers for younger generations engaging sailing, it raises the question of future accessibility and whether is is really a wise marketing strategy?

on the other side of the spectrum, it seems mega yachts are at an all time high.....

Like Hinkley they're too busy building power boats.
