Recreational Craft Directive

Hello,
I'm wanting to officially import my boat into the U.K so I can sell her. I sailed her (solo) across the Atlantic from South Carolina in 2005.
I already have my C104A (VAT exemption) but it seems I now need a CE, or Recreational Craft Directive certificate.
It looks very expensive and complicated.
Does anyone have any experience with this? My boat was built in Florida in 1979, if that helps at all.

Cheers,
Andrew
