New Jersey passes boat tax cut

It could soon be cheaper to buy a boat in New Jersey, with the state Assembly and Senate voting to cut the sales tax on boats by 50 percent.
It now heads to Gov. Chris Christie, who is expected to sign it.
The bill cuts the state’s 7 percent sales tax to 3.5 percent on boats and caps total sales tax collection at $20,000 on any vessel.
